Tips for Successful Black Dating
When someone talks about black dating, interracial relationship usually comes to mind. Unfortunately, discreet discrimination still exists. People may tend to be ok with the relationship but they are in fact, very uncomfortable with the setting.
If you are an African American and you’re planning to ask someone on a date, here are some tips that might help you succeed.
Tip # 1: Be Yourself
This tip is already a cliché but it works. This tip will not live on for ages if they are not effective. When you are asking someone out, don’t pretend you’re someone else. Be yourself at all times especially if you want to be with someone for a long time. You have to know from the start if the other person likes you and the only way to know that is to be yourself. By showing your true personality, the person will know who you are and will have an idea on how your relationship will prosper.
Most people are afraid to show their true self since they are afraid that no one will like them for who they are. Don’t worry; there will always be someone for everyone.
Tip # 2: Dating Tips are Not Absolute
Whatever you read in dating websites should not be absolutely followed. You have to use your common sense sometimes if you want to be successful in dating. There are dating websites that might provide outrageous tips just to get the notice of the other sex. As already indicated, you just have to be yourself so that you’ll know from the start if there’s someone compatible to your personality.
Develop your own “dating tips” which will be your guide on how to be successful in dating. You may need all the help you can get from dating websites but in the end, it will just be you talking to the person of your interest.
Tip # 3: Be Calm
One of the worst situations you’ll be in when asking someone out for a date is when you are asking someone out while sweating profusely. This is most likely caused by nervousness which will also show in your actions and the way you speak.
To address the nervousness in your body, follow the technique used by those who have anger issues: Stop, close your eyes or focus on something stable and count to 10 while doing deep breaths. Shake your hands to get the blood moving so that you can think clearly when asking someone out on a date.
Tip # 4: Be Confident
If you’re an interracial couple, it takes more than simple attraction to succeed. You need to be confident about the relationship. You know that this will last for a very long time but other people who could be a little bit discriminating will think otherwise. By being confident, you become stronger in your relationship and your partner will appreciate that confidence and will also become stronger and assured in your relationship. This is also applicable when you are trying to ask someone out for a date.
